Virgil R. Pyle, Sr. Obituary

Donalsonville, Ga - Virgil R. Pyle, Sr., 80, of Donalsonville, passed away Sunday, April 19, 2026.

He was born January 13, 1946, in Thomasville, GA, the son of Berry Harold & Monda Pearl Pyle. Virgil worked until his retirement with LMC and was a member of Donalsonville Church of God.

Virgil was most content outdoors. Deer hunting at dawn, tending rows of vegetables in his garden, or processing and preparing his own meat, Virgil valued self-reliance and the rhythms of nature. He was known to share the fruits of his labor with family and friends, a quiet gesture that spoke volumes about his character.

Survivors include his wife, Jean Stafford Pyle; his children, Dusty Raymond Pyle, Tony Lee Pyle, Virgil Raymond Pyle, Jr., and Sandy Elizabeth Pyle Carter; and several grandchildren including his favorite granddaughter, Kathy. In addition to his parents, Virgil was preceded in death by his siblings, Jack Lee Pyle, Billy Pyle, Johnny Whaley Pyle, Tommy Pyle, Jean Strickland, Ethan Latham, Evelyn Peters, Edith Wilkes, Diane Giles, and Sandra Ring.
