Thomasville, GA - Tara Kae Wentworth went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on New Year's Eve, December 31, 2025, after a short stay at Archbold Memorial Hospital. Even in the hospital, she showed interest in others, including those caring for her. The passion of her life was to help and pray for others to know Jesus Christ and her Father in Heaven as she did. A Celebration of Life will be held by family and friends on Saturday, January 17, 2026, at 11 AM, at New Life Fellowship Church of Thomas County, Inc., 151 Hebron Lane, Thomasville, Georgia 31792 (off US 19 North).
Tara was many things, to many people. She was, first and foremost, a handmaiden of
her Lord. She was a woman of considerable versatility and accomplishments, having been a missionary, an author, a columnist, a political candidate, a wallpaper hanger, a dental assistant, an artist, a seamstress, a business owner, an intercessory prayer warrior, a skydiver, a server and a friend. She purchased, owned and operated Horne Candy and Paper Company until 2013. Until her death, she wrote weekly Christian
columns in the Thomasville Times Enterprise, and served as board member of two ministries.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ben and Frances Wentworth and her brother, Greg Wentworth. She is survived by her two sisters and brothers in law, Jan Ellen Wentworth Fletcher (Lee) and Lisa Jo Wentworth Fletcher (Jay)and her sister-in-law, Trish Wentworth. She was especially close to her local niece, Tonia Fletcher Carroll
(Brian). However, she visited her other nieces and nephews around the country and on her 75th birthday, went sky diving with her grandnephew, Wyatt Winterbottom, in Oregon.
She is survived by the following nieces and nephews: Greg's six children: Dacyl Tiffany Winterbottom (Matt), Jessica Rachel Forston (John), Larissa Chloe Thompson, Zachary Michael Wentworth, Lauren Elizabeth Wentworth and Andrew Gregory Wentworth. She is also survived by Jan's three (3) children: Shawn Patrick Fletcher (Sheila) and Tonia
Nicole F. Carroll (Brian) and Richard Paul Fletcher; and by Lisa's five (5) children: Laura
Michelle Fletcher (Michael), Matthew Joseph Fletcher, Hannah Leigh Fletcher (Patrick),
Erica Nicole Fletcher and Grace Evan Fletcher.
A graduate of Florida State University, Tara also attended Bible college in Texas and
served as officer and pastor in her church, New Life Fellowship Church, Inc. She was a founding director of Community Transformation Inc., an organization of pastors and leaders to promote prayer and partnering in the Thomasville community since the year 2000. She served as a missionary in Belize for three (3) years and went on missionary trips to Africa to Mozambique, Uganda and Malawi. She also recently made an
intercessory prayer trip to England, Scotland and Wales to revisit places where great Christian awakenings were born and to pray for another great awakening. She was part of an international intercessory prayer group and several local prayer groups.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in her name to Arms of Love Ministries,
Inc., P.O. Box 295, Moultrie, Georgia 31726-0295 (on whose board she served) or to Marion Medical Missions, Inc., 1412 Shawnee Drive, Marion, IL 62959, www.mmmwater.org, which provides wells to African countries she visited.
