Thomasville, GA - Alan Ramsey "Ram" Singletary departed this life peacefully on March 30th, 2025 at his home.

Born on September 7, 1963 in Thomasville, Georgia, he was the son of the late James Vernon Singletary, Sr. and Martha "Peggy" Wheeler Singletary.

Upon graduation from Thomas County Central High School in 1981, Ram began working full time at Singletary's Flower Shop with his mother, father and brother, Jimmy. One of the original owners of Singletary's, Ram continued to work at the flower shop until his passing. He had a passion for floral design, and through that he was able to comfort families in times of grief, and make special events a day to remember.

During his career as a florist, he received many awards and accolades for his creativity. Along with his brother, he was awarded the 1983 Georgia Business in Arts Award. Ram could always be counted on to help remember that special anniversary, holiday, or to answer any "SOS Text" when it came to floral needs.

Ramsey was all things Thomasville. He loved his community, and was an avid supporter of the Thomasville Antique Show and the Thomasville Rose Show. In 2016, Ram had the honor of having the Thomasville Antique Show dedicated to him. He was a recipient of the Chamber of Commerce Humanitarian of the Year Award and was involved with the South Georgia Floral Association. A founding member of All Saints' Episcopal Church, Ram began his service to the church as an acolyte, later serving as the director of the acolytes and then as a verger. A member of the vestry, Ram was the lifeblood of All Saints'.

Outside of the flower shop, he dedicated much of his time to serving the church. He was dedicated, talented, and a caring soul to so many.

A wonderful father, brother and friend, Ramsey adored his family and friends. He was preceded in death by his daughter Savannah Ramsey Singletary. She was the apple of his eye, and he continued to honor her memory throughout his life. He co-founded the Savannah Singletary Memorial Scholarship and chaired the Children's Floral Workshop at the Thomasville Antique Show for many years.

Ram is survived by his brother Jimmy Singletary (Rick) of Thomasville, and sister Lori Ann, Buffy Singletary (Travis) of Crestview, FL; niece Hannah Watt (Jonathon); nephew Spencer Singletary; great-nieces Nell, Alafiar, Susanna and great-nephew Aven Watt, numerous cousins, special friends Melinda and Mark Bryant, Godson Ian Bryant (Sophie), and the dedicated and loyal staff at Singletary's Flowers.

In addition to his mother, father and daughter, Ram is preceded in death by his Paternal Grandparents Alton Cornelius Singletary and Mary Lorena Bowen Singletary and Maternal Grandparents Bertie Dove Williams Wheeler and Ramsey Colquitt Wheeler.

Funeral Services will be held on Friday, April 4th at 11am at All Saints' Episcopal Church with The Reverend Rick Beuchner and The Reverend Will Brown officiating. The family will receive friends following the service in the church Parish Hall.
