Thomasville, GA - With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Morrisce Bunton Dockett, a beloved mother,
grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She departed this life with grace on February 10, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of love, faith, and kindness that will forever be cherished by those who knew her.
Born on March 9, 1943, in Yorktown, Arkansas, and raised in Lonoke, Morrisce was the daughter of the late Frank T. Bunton Sr. and Georgia Murry Bunton. She was deeply devoted to her family, community, and faith. She attended Tuskegee Institute, where she met the love of her life, Simon O.J. Dockett. Their 45-year marriage, until his passing, was a testament to enduring love and dedication. Together, they built a beautiful life in Thomasville, Georgia, raising their family and serving faithfully at Good Shepherd Episcopal Church.
Morrisce's wisdom, compassion, and generous spirit touched countless lives. While she will be deeply
missed, her memory will live on in the hearts of her loved ones.
She is survived by her sons, Cedric L. Dockett and his wife, Karen, of Lonoke, Arkansas, and Simon O.J. Dockett II and his wife, Regina, of Conyers, Georgia, along with a host of grandchildren, great-
grandchildren, extended family, and dear friends.
Her love, faith, and kindness will remain an everlasting gift to all who were blessed to know her.
A Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday, February 22, at 2:00 PM at St. Thomas Episcopal Church, 216 Remington Ave, Thomasville, Ga.
Interment will be held in Peaceful Rest Cemetery, 101 N. Pinetree Blvd. (off County Line Rd)
