Cairo, GA - Michael "Mike" Jarrell, a devoted husband, loving father, cherished grandfather, and respected community member, passed away peacefully on April 17, 2026, in Tallahassee, Florida. Born on May 18, 1949, in Thomasville, Georgia, Mike's life was marked by dedication, passion, and a deep commitment to family and friends.

A proud graduate of Thomasville High School, Mike's early years were shaped by a profound sense of duty as he bravely served his country as an Army Veteran during the Vietnam War. His military service was a testament to his courage and unwavering patriotism. Following his honorable service, Mike built a fulfilling career as a Heavy Mobile Equipment mechanic, lending his expertise and skill to Marine Corps Logistics Base in Albany, GA. His work ethic and reliability were evident to all who had the privilege to work alongside him.

More than his career, Mike found joy and companionship in his beloved Sandy, whom he married on April 21, 1989. Together, they were longstanding members of the Family Worship Center family in Cairo, Georgia, where their love and faith were nurtured and shared within a supportive community enriched by countless friends from near and far. Their bond was a foundation of strength and happiness throughout Mike's life.

Mike's passions extended beyond his professional and spiritual life. He cherished restoring old cars, embracing the art of turning worn vehicles into magnificent high-performance showpieces. This hobby brought him joy and camaraderie as he worked hand-in-hand with friends, sharing laughs and creating lasting memories.

He is survived by his devoted wife, Sandra Lawson Jarrell of Cairo; a caring daughter, Kelly Barber (Jac) of Cairo; and beloved step-sons Joshua Fielding (Nikki) of Coolidge, and Preston Fielding (Sandy) of Cairo. Mike took immense pride in his extensive family, including grandchildren Alexis Meier (Tony) of Savannah, Jacob Barber (Allison) of Columbus, Devin Fielding of Valdosta, Braxton Fielding, Austin Fielding (Ansley), Abby Fielding of Thomasville, and Dawson and Noah Fielding of Coolidge. His brother, Albert Jarrell, Jr. (Ann) of Thomasville, also survives him, continuing the close-knit family circle that meant so much to Mike.

Mike was preceded in death by his father, Albert Jarrell, Sr., and mother, Mabel Lee Hughes, as well as his siblings Opal Harding, Jimmy Jarrell, and Jackie Holtzclaw. Their memories remain an enduring part of the legacy he leaves behind.

A visitation will be held on Tuesday - April 21, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the Family Worship Center, located at 1760 US-84, Cairo, GA 39827. This will be followed immediately by the funeral service from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., honoring Mike's life and the indelible mark he has left on all who knew him.

Mike Jarrell's life was one of quiet strength, heartfelt devotion, and joyful service to others. He had a love for Jesus. He was an usher and helped with security at church. He helped with a Spanish Ministry in Cairo - leading others to Jesus. He loved big - Jesus and his family were his life. His memory will live on in the hearts of his family, friends, and all whose lives he touched—a testament to a man who lived fully and loved deeply.
