Pelham, GA - Mary Joyce Walton, 82, of Pelham passed away Wednesday, October 15, 2025 at Archbold Inpatient Hospice.

Funeral services were held Saturday, October 18, 2025, at 11:00AM at Pelham First Baptist Church. Rev. Ricky Pollock officiated. The family met with family and friends on Saturday, October 18, 2025 from 10:00-11:00AM, at Pelham First Baptist Church.

Born November 29, 1942, she was the daughter of the late Dan Wallace Walton, Sr., and Norma Urquhart Walton. Miss Walton was a member of First Baptist Church. She graduated from Pelham High School in 1960 and The Women's College of Georgia in 1964.

As a business teacher at Pelham High School for forty years, Miss Walton left an indelible mark on her students. Coaching the Pelham High School tennis team for thirty years, she accomplished numerous region titles and established herself as a highly regarded tennis coach in Southwest Georgia.

In addition to these accolades, Miss Walton was a longtime FBLA advisor and was named Star Teacher on more than one occasion.

She is survived by her sister-in-law, Sue Walton of Pelham; nieces Susie Pollock (Barry) of Pelham, Krista Lee of Thomasville, and Jennifer Humphries (Travis) of Pelham; great nieces and nephews Neal Taylor, Jr. (McCall) of Thomasville, Parker Taylor of Boston, Hunter Humphries of Pelham, Tyler Lee of Thomasville, Riley Pollock of Atlanta, GA and Dana Pollock of Pelham; and a great-great niece Charlee Kate Taylor.

Miss Walton was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Wallace Walton, Jr.
