Funeral services for John Wayne Fincher, 89, of Cairo, GA, are at 3:30 p.m., Tuesday, March 4, 2025, at the First Baptist Church, Cairo, GA. Rev. Chris Allen will officiate.

Interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Cairo, GA. Mr. Fincher passed away at his

home on Friday, February 28, 2025.

Active pallbearers will be Richard Hall, Johnny Tuggle, Mark Starr, Ken Hicks, Randy Holton, Layne Davis, Shane Everson and Wayne Everson.

Mr. Fincher was born on January 8, 1936, in Cairo, GA, to the late John Wiley Fincher and Janie Oneida Stewart.

On January 15, 1972, he married Carolyn Faye Smith Fincher, who preceded him in death on May 24, 2024. They recently celebrated 52 years of marriage. He was a dedicated lifetime farmer and a member of the Cairo First Baptist Church.

Survivors include: his children, Michael Wayne Fincher (Genevieve) of Brockville,

Ontario, Angela Everson (Michael) of Cairo, GA; grandchildren, Lauren Faye West of Columbus, GA, Georgia Fincher and Liam Fincher, both of Brockville, Ontario; and a sister-in-law, Patsy Davis of Cairo, GA.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife and a son, William Stewart Fincher.

Memorials may be made in Mr. Fincher's memory to the American Heart Association. The family will receive friends at the First Baptist Church on Tuesday, March 4, 2025, from 2:30 p.m. until 3:30 p.m.
