Thomasville, GA - Jerry Aspinwall, 79, of Thomasville, passed away on Monday, November 3, 2025, at Archbold Hospital.
Funeral Services will be held at Whiddon Shiver Funeral Home on Saturday, November 15, 2025, at 11:30am with Pastor Jamie Nunnally officiating. A private interment will be held for family members at Laurel Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service, from 10:30 am to 11:30 am, in the funeral home chapel.
Jerry was born on October 29, 1946, in Dothan, AL, to the late James Curry Aspinwall and Juanita Carraway Aspinwall. He was a graduate of Central High School, Class of 1964, and attended Thomas College for his Business Degree.
He married Patsy Scoggins Aspinwall on June 17, 1967, at The First Presbyterian Church in Thomasville, where he served as a Deacon. He began working at Massey Ferguson and then spent many years at Nabisco before starting his own businesses. These began with car detailing and gasoline sales at Blackburn Service Station, which later led to the opening of a successful Used Car Dealership - JJ Auto Sales, that he ran happily for over 25 years. Jerry loved working with his hands.
A jack of all trades, he enjoyed woodworking and building beautiful Butterfly Boxes and tic-tac-toe games, which he showcased at local arts and crafts shows.
He was a member of the National Guard, the Lions Club, a member of the Sons of the Confederacy, and attended Victory Fellowship Church.
He is survived by; his wife Patsy Aspinwall of Thomasville, his children, Chris C Aspinwall and Amy C Aspinwall, both of Thomasville, grandchildren, Ellie Aspinwall and Ben Bailey, and a great-granddaughter, Blakely Hogan, sisters, LaWanda Bertschy (Mike) and Denise Hobbs, both of Thomasville, sister-in-law, Linda Aspinwall of Florida and a number of nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family members.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Franklin Blake Aspinwall; a nephew, Kevin Aspinwall; a brother, Ronnie Aspinwall; and a brother-in-law, Colburn Hobbs.
