James Michael Caulley, Sr.
On October 31, 2019 at 11:05 AM, James Michael Caulley, Sr. went home to be with his Lord, Jesus Christ. Born and raised in Florida, Mike graduated from Stetson University and married his wife of 45 years Wendy Ellen Caulley. Mike's work moved him from Orlando, FL to Atlanta, GA to Albany, GA to Thomasville, GA to Tulsa, OK. He and Wendy retired and moved to Destin, FL before hearing the call of the Lord to move back to Thomasville, GA. Mike worked as a CPA, but eventually moved into a role with Sing Oil Company, and later worked for Amoco Oil.

Upon retirement Mike used his skills and passion to benefit the Church. When he moved back to Thomasville, he worked as an Administrative Pastor while Wendy worked as a Pastoral Counselor at New Covenant Church. Mike ended his career in Church Administration less than a year ago serving First Presbyterian Church of Thomasville and Trinity Anglican Church. He had an acute ability to help churches organize financially, helping many non-profits. Mike and Wendy helped start the competitive soccer programs still in existence in Thomasville today.

Mike's passion for the Lord only increased over time. He and Wendy experienced firsthand the healing power of Christ through counseling and were committed to seeing others set free. Mike also fell in love with the study of the Word of God. He taught Sunday School classes at his churches with serious preparation and study. For over a year, Mike committed to reading the Gospel accounts of Jesus repeatedly as he wanted to know Jesus more deeply.

From this study, Mike came up with his personal motto later in life: Jesus Christ, my only hope. Indeed. He would want you to know this hope that breaks the chains of death.

Mike is celebrating life with his wife, Wendy Ellen Caulley, who preceded him in death on March 1, 2012. He is survived by two brothers and one sister, his three sons (and their wives) Mike and Kristi Caulley, Rich and Laura Caulley, and Don and Anna Caulley. He had two granddaughters, eight grandsons, and one great grandson.

A Memorial Service will be held for Mike on November 9, 2019 at 11:00 AM at First Presbyterian Church of Thomasville. There will be a reception following the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the First Presbyterian Church Counseling Fund in memory of Wendy Caulley. Please make the check out to First Presbyterian Church with "Mike Caulley Memorial" in the subject line. Address is 225 E. Jackson St., Thomasville, GA 31792.
