Graveside services for George Donald Bass, 85, of Pelham, will be held Friday, June 9, 2023 at 2:00 PM at Pelham City Cemetery. Rev. Jerry Bass with officiate. Born March 20, 1938 in Pelham, he was the son of the late Wiley Cecil Bass and Marjorie Nona Sasser Bass. Mr. Bass passed away on Wednesday, June 7, 2023 at Pelham Parkway Nursing Home. He was of the Baptist Faith and a retired Teacher. Mr. Bass is survived by his brother, Jerry Bass and wife, Sandy of New Orleans, LA; sister Anne Bass Hays of Pelham; nieces Kimberly West and Kiley Hays of Pelham, Robbin Folsom of Camilla, Patty Tennison of Cairo, and Dondra Bass of Pelham; nephews Scotty Bass of Moultrie and Craig Bass of Tallahassee, FL; cousin Joan Davis Johnson of North Carolina; and numerous great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Robert "Bobby" Cecil Bass, twin-brother Lester Ronald Bass (JaLayne), nephew David Edward Bass and brother-in-law Richard Bright Hays.
