Thomasville, Georgia - Geary Caldwell Langford, age 78, will be remembered and honored by family and friends following his passing on November 27, 2025, at his home in Thomasville, GA. Born on October 12, 1947, in Gainesville, FL, Geary was the beloved son of devoted parents and a proud U.S. Navy veteran. An Eagle Scout, Geary carried the values of service and dedication throughout his life.
Geary devoted his career to the insurance industry, becoming an owner of Caldwell and Langford Insurance Co. He was actively involved in professional organizations, including the Young Agents Committee, where he met yearly with others to discuss insurance. Geary was also a former member of the Thomasville Exchange Club.
Geary is survived by his loving partner, Lynda Jones of Valdosta, and his beloved children: Kearsley Langford Johnson of Leesburg, Georgia, Ford Langford (Katie) of Thomasville, and Ginger Smith (Stephen) of Tolland, Connecticut. Geary also leaves behind cherished grandchildren Karlyn Johnson, Mason Johnson, Matthew Johnson, Kinsleigh Langford, and Yukiko Smith, and a great-grandson, Conway Anderson. He is survived by his siblings: Kearsley Doughty of Coolidge, Ross Langford (Karlyn) of Panacea, Florida, Fred Smith of Atlanta, and Tommy Smith of Florida, along with numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Fredricka Langford, and his brother Carl Langford.
Services will be held on Friday, December 5, 2025, at St. Thomas Episcopal Church at 2 PM, with father Wallace Marsh officiating. Family and friends are invited to gather and celebrate Geary's life, share memories, and support one another in remembrance of a remarkable man.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St Thomas Episcopal Church or Tunnels to Towers.
