Frankfort, KY - Gary Lee Hunter, 72, passed away on Friday, November 21, 2025 while hospitalized in Louisville, Kentucky. Hunter was born May 23, 1953 in Thomasville, Georgia to the late Francis Hunter and Doris Reece Hunter. He graduated from Thomasville High School in 1971, where he was a proud member of the tennis team. Following graduation, Gary began a 25-year career with AT&T, working in both Atlanta and Thomasville.
After retiring, Gary and his family relocated to Thomaston, Georgia. He enjoyed playing golf, rooting for the University of Georgia Bulldogs and was a member of Mountain View Baptist Church.
Gary was preceded in death by his wife, Susan Hunter. He is survived by two sons, Christopher and Joshua; sister, Sherry Hunter Wands (Charles); and nephews, Kirk Wands and Brad Wands (Amanda).
No services are planned. A private ceremony will be held by the family.
