Thomasville, Georgia - A service celebrating the life of Dallas Franklin "Frank" Scoggins, affectionately known as Franky, was held on Wednesday, March 18 at First Baptist Church in Thomasville, where he was a devoted member. Frank passed away on Thursday, March 12, 2026. Born on October 8, 1946, in Athens, Georgia, he was the son of the late Bobby and Agnes Scoggins. He married Mary Warren Long Clanton in 1995, and they shared 24 years of marriage until her passing.

Frank graduated from Thomasville High School in 1964 and attended Valdosta State University, where he was a proud member of Pi Kappa Phi fraternity. He graduated in 1968 with a Bachelor's in Finance. Frank spent many years working for Sunnyland Foods before joining C&W Foods, where he served as Vice President of Sales for one of his longtime friends, Roger Champion. Most recently, he served as Thomas County's Elections Supervisor—a role he loved and fulfilled diligently until the day of his passing. Frank was meticulous in all aspects of his life, from his strong work ethic and sharp attire to his faithful usher duties at First Baptist. He was known for his dry wit, quick humor, and memorable comebacks—often sparring playfully with the men at Al Dixon's, a place he visited so frequently he might as well have held stock. He cherished the camaraderie of his regular coffee group and found joy in hunting, fishing, and cheering on his beloved Georgia Bulldogs. Above all, Frank treasured his family. A man of deep faith, Frank leaned on Christ through every season of life. He continually encouraged his children and grandchildren to stay grounded in their faith and to always count their blessings.

Frank was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Warren Long Scoggins; his parents, Bobby and Agnes Scoggins; and his sister, Patsy Scoggins Aspinwall. He is survived by his children Brooke King (Matt), Meredith Blue (Graham), and Neal Scoggins; his stepdaughters Cindi Ackerman (Bob) and Carri Lauder (Cal); his niece Amy Aspinwall and nephew Chris Aspinwall; and Alice Scoggins Hurst, mother of his children, along with longtime friend Jimmy Clanton. He was a proud and beloved "Pops" to fourteen grandchildren: Meghan Oppenheim (Chandler), Madison Maxwell (Kyle), Taff Goodin (Julia), Austin Yeomans, Dixie and Fischer Blue, Riley, Shelby, and Gabe Scoggins, Kennedy Ackerman, Mills Ackerman (Skylar), and Helen, Lucy, and Rich Smith. He was also blessed with greatgrandchildren Piper and Nora Oppenheim, Ledger, Pearson, and Rafe Maxwell, and Heath and Madelyn Goodin. Contributions may be made to First Baptist Church, P.O.
