Dwight Warren Voyles Obituary

Dwight Warren Voyles, age 78, of Brunswick, passed away Wednesday, April 2, 2025.

Dwight was a native of Thomasville, Georgia where he graduated from Central High School, class of 1966.

While in school, he lettered in Football (#74) and baseball. After graduation, he played city league and tournament softball until 1982.

Dwight retired from A&P Tea Company after 17 years, then went to work with Flowers Baking Company where he served as a District Manager, retiring in 2012 after 33 years of service. During his tenure with Flowers Baking Company, the family moved to Louisiana and eventually Brunswick where they made their home.

Dwight was a member of Bible Baptist Church and loved listening to southern gospel music, especially the Gaithers. Dwight was a jokester who never met a stranger and was quite the cook! He enjoyed grilling and was known for his crawfish etouffee. Most of all, Dwight was a man who loved spending time with his family. He will be missed.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Clyde and Ethelle Voyles; his first wife, Deborah Voyles; two children, Scott and Joy Voyles and a brother-in-law, Glenn Burgess.

Dwight is survived by his wife of 44 years, Sylvia Burgess Voyles; a son, Kyle Voyles of Richmond Hill; two grandchildren, Mason and Casen Voyles of Richmond Hill; three brothers, Palmer Voyles of Thomasville, Fred Voyles (Maryann) of Griffin and Coley Voyles (Lil) of Bainbridge; a brother-in-law, Kenneth Burgess of Thomasville; his best four legged friend, Milo, a chihuahua and numerous nieces, nephews and other family members. A graveside service will be held Saturday, April 19, 2025, at 11:00 am at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Thomasville.
