Thomasville, GA - Curtis Anderson Shores, a devoted family man and faithful member of Fellowship Church of Christ, passed away on September 25, 2025, at the age of 98. He was born on March 9, 1927, in Reno, Georgia, to the late Charlie and Lotchie Shores.
Curtis served his country honorably during World War II, enlisting in both the Merchant Marines and the Army, serving in the South Pacific and Germany. His commitment to service was mirrored in his professional life, where he co-owned B&B Electric Motor Service.
Survivors include his daughter, Rhonda Parrish (Buddy) of Thomasville; sister Bobbie Shores Zaleski; grandchildren Curt Parrish, Jill Parrish Copps (Jason), Jamie Shealey, Jordan Shealey; great-grandchild Wyatt Copps, followed by numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Alma Wade Shores, daughter Glenda Shores Thursby, and siblings Geraldine Shores Rowe, Clyde Shores, Charles Shores, Frances Shores Fulgham, and Doris Shores Storey.
The family would like to give a special thanks to all of Curtis's friends and family who have lifted him up in prayer, his caregivers at Southern Pines, Georgia Hospice, the Tallahassee V.A., and his church family.
Funeral services for Curtis will be held on Saturday, September 27, 2025, at 2:00 PM at Allen and Allen Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Jared Vernon and Sam Collins officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm prior to the service. Interment will follow at Laurel Hill Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jason Copps, Jim Sherman, Michael Strickland, and James Willis. Memorial contributions may be made to Fellowship Church of Christ, PO Box 1883 Thomasville, Georgia 31799.
