Funeral services for Charles L. James, 95, of Pelham will be held Sunday, September 17, 2023 at 3:00PM at Pelham First Baptist Church where he was a member with a private family interment on Monday at Floral Memory Gardens in Albany. Rev. Ricky Griner, Rev. Leroy Williams and Ronnie Morrell will officiate. Pallbearers will be Tyler James, Mark Hanon, Christopher Dowling, Jimmy Godwin, Walter Sealy, Trace Frailey, Joey Brinkley and Donnie Palmer. Honorary Pallbearers will be Gene Sellers, John Butler, John Gray, John Bullington, Jimmy Thomas and Billy Davis.

Born July 22, 1928 in Parrot, GA he was the son of the late Robert Wesley and Ruby Kennedy James. Mr. James passed away Wednesday, September 13, 2023 at his residence.

Mr. James was a member and Deacon at Pelham First Baptist Church, member of the Kiwanis club, Civitan Club, Lions Club, and worked with the United States Postal service for 38 years and 15 years with the Georgia Baptist Children's Home.

He is survived by his wife of 68 years Janice E. (Farmer) James of Pelham; son, Charles (Brian) James (Susan) of Raleigh, NC; grandchildren, Tyler James of Dallas, TX; Mallory James of Raleigh, NC; Meredith James of Raleigh, NC; Stephanie Dowling; Christopher Dowling, Trace Frailey, Kacie Hannon, Mark Hannon, Asher Exum, "KJ" Hannah, and KenLee Hannon; sister, Barbara James Klawitter; and Betty James Whitfield. He was preceded in by his parents, daughter, Karen Nichols; brother, Ernest Robert James and two sisters, Joyce James Bistororious and Clarice James Mitchiner.

The family will receive friend on Sunday from 2:00-3:00PM at the Church.
