Graveside services for James Patterson (Pat) Kirkley, 72, of Thomasville will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, April 28, 2017 at Laurel Hill Cemetery. The Rev. Lee Waller will officiate. Pat passed away April 25, 2017 at his home from metastatic prostate cancer. Born November 21, 1944, he was the son of the late Catherine Patterson Bohler and James Joseph Kirkley. Pat graduated from Thomasville High School in 1963, served four years in the United States Air Force and graduated from Valdosta State College. His career included working at Firestone and Proctor & Gamble, retiring in 2008. Pat enjoyed working in the yard, music, camping, playing golf and spending time with his family. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Marilyn Miller Kirkley; sons, Jimmy Kirkley of Atlanta and Matt Kirkley of Thomasville; brothers, Dudley Moore and wife Rebecca of Thomasville and Carl Kirkley of Atlanta; three nephews and one niece. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Dawson Street Baptist Church, 1025 N. Dawson St., Thomasville, GA 31792 or The American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 1201, Albany, GA 31702.
