Services for Franklin McCrary Sr. of Thomasville are at 1 p.m., Saturday, July 22, 2017, at Trinity Missionary Baptist Church. The Rev. Dr. Leonard Jenkins will officiate and interment is in Boston Cemetery. Pallbearers are his nephews. Mr. McCrary died July 16 at Archbold Hospital. Born Nov. 4, 1952 in Ludowici, Georgia, he was the son of the late Ralph H. McCrary Sr. and Mae Carrie Threats McCray. He married Konice K. Coachman in Thomasville on Aug. 1, 2009. He attended Thomas County School Systems, member of Trinity Missionary Baptist Church where he served as treasurer of the Usher Board and was treasurer of Ebenezer Lodge No. 956. He lived in Thomasville for 55 years and was a trackman for CSX Railroad for 22 years. Survivors include his wife, Konice K. McCrary of Thomasville; son, Franklin McCrary (Kimberly) of Charlotte, North Carolina; daughters, Taujaline McCrary of Charlotte, North Carolina, Segie Jackson (Antonio) of Jacksonville, Florida, LaToya Coachman of Thomasville; son, Jamicah Amos of Waycross; grandson, Raytavious Samuel of Charlotte, North Carolina; granddaughters, Yasmine Davis of Jacksonville, Florida, Evan McCrary of Charlotte, North Carolina, Megan McCrary of Charlotte, North Carolina; grandson, Kadrein (Poo-Poo) Suckie of Thomasville; brothers, Leroy McCrary of Thomasville, Jerry McCrary of Thomasville, Charles McCrary (Patsy) of Thomasville; sisters, Annette Christian (Herbert) of Thomasville, Dorothy McIntyre (Eddie) of Thomasville, Minnie Whitlock of Albany, Janice Wilkerson of Albany; grandson, Kevin Jackson of Jacksonville, Florida; great-grandson, Darius Davis of Jacksonville, Florida; sisters-in-law, Kimila Hobbs (Greg) of Thomasville, Ellinita Anderson (Anthony) of Thomasville, Renee Bradley of Tallahassee, Florida; brother-in-law, George Calloway of Thomasville; godparents, Henry and Savannah Hill of Thomasville; god sister, Melinda Wilson of Thomasville; godchildren, Marion Simon (Angel), Kesha Graham-Baker (Darrin), Mataius Wilson; special friends, Ernest Graham (Netta), Alex Jackson (Yolanda), Bill Brown (Clara), Hozell Hester, John Murphy, Clifford Moore, Seneca Springle and A.J. Horne (Lusendy); three uncles, Walter Threats of Atlanta, Carlton McCrary of Detroit, Michigan, Mathew McCrary of Springfield, Michigan; aunt, Beatrice Leonard of Rochester, New York; and a host of other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by brothers, Lou Neal McCrary, Ralph McCrary; and sisters, Mary Calloway, Gail Odom The viewing is from noon to 8 p.m., Friday at the funeral home and from 11 a.m., until the funeral hour on Saturday at the church with no viewing after the eulogy.
