Trustee Willie Thomas was born on May 9, 1931 to the late Mother Geneva Raines Thomas and the late Isaac Thomas. Trustee Willie gave his life to Christ and joined Mt. Moriah Baptist Church early in life. As a child, he was very smart and strong. He grew into a young an who has the ability and desire to work hard. He enjoyed being outside and working with his hands, which would help him pursue one of this greatest loves, farming. Willie worked side by side with his mother on the farm. His appreciation of nature and God's wonders could be seen in the attention and dedication to his animals and the farm. Willie found other ways to be outside in nature by pursuing a career with the Department of Transportation in Thomasville, Georgia. For more than three decades, Willie faithfully served the Department of Transportation always on time, never missing a day and without ever taking a vacation. After retiring, Willie continued to work the farm until health issues prevented him from doing so. Willie was dedicated to his mother and took care of her until she passed. Willie was quiet, but those who knew him, knew him to be a loving and kind man with an infectious smile. Willie toiled and labored all his life. His Father in Heaven called him home to rest on June 28, 2017. Willie was blessed with four children.
