Services for Wilbert Delaney will be Monday, October 23, 2017 at 11:00am. First Seventh Day Adventist Church, 1400 Magnolia Street, Thomasville, GA 31792. Pastor Brian McKinney, Officiating.
Wilbert Delaney peacefully departed this life on October 15, 2017. Born April 26, 1943 to the late Willis and Mamie Clarke Delaney.
Wilbert attended Douglas High School and was a truck driver for the City of Thomasville for 30 years. He was faithful member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church for over 40 years.
He leaves to morn his loving and devoted wife, Mary Delaney; son, Christopher Knight and step daughter Sharon Monroe, who helped to care for him the last few years of his life. He also had a devoted sister-in-law, Earnestine Lockley, Grace Clarke and Alma Rodgers and a devoted brother-in-law, Lou William Monroe. He also leaved behind two devoted nephews, James and Jerome Johnson, who also helped to care for him.
His nieces and nephews were Luther Gordon (Carole), Yvette Vanterporl, Ronald Delaney, and specials cousins, Howard Gilmore, Eula Mae Alexander, Dorothy Newkirk, Frank Delaney, Brenda Williams, Linda Barnes, Cynthia Jones, Sandra Mackey, Rhetta Truitlin, Clara Jones and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Wilbert had four brothers, Roscoe Delaney, James C Delaney(JC), Cylde Delaney and Richard Delaney and one sister, Doris Delaney Johnson, all whom preceded him in death.
