Mrs. Vera Turner Pharr, age 80, of Thomasville, passed away on Tuesday, November 21, 2017, at Thomasville. Mrs. Pharr was born on May 21, 1937, in Odum, Georgia, to the late Rev. Garland Elbridge Turner and Maude Turner. Mrs. Pharr was a church pianist for many churches in the South Georgia area for many years. Survivors include her husband, Rev. H. L. Pharr of Thomasville; daughters; Lynn Pharr Conoley (Terry Willis) of Thomasville, Becky and husband Dr. Hector Martinez of Tampa, Florida; sons, Stan Pharr of Thomasville, Cliff Pharr of Atlanta: sisters, Peggy and husband Boyd James of Axson, and Sherryl and husband Ricky Bullard of Douglas; grandchildren, Caroline Pharr, Jackson Conoley, Dylan Conoley. She was proceeded by her father Rev. Garland Turner and mother Maude Turner. The family received friends Friday, November 24, 2017 from 5 to 8 p.m. at Sims Funeral Home. The funeral service was held on Saturday, November 25, 2017 at 11 a.m. at the Camp Ground United Methodist Church in Bacon County, with Rev. Matt Barlow and daughter Lynn Pharr Conoley officiating. Music was furnished for the service by the Sweetwater Blue Grass Band. Active Pallbearers were: Dr. Kevin James, Jackson Conoley, Dylan Conoley, Craig Pharr, Charles Pharr, Jr., Terry Willis. Interment followed at Camp Ground United Methodist Church Cemetery. Sims Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
