Funeral serices for Vera Godwin Hagan, 83, of Thomasville, are at 2 p.m., on Monday May 29, 2017, at Dawson Street Baptist Church, where she was a member. The Rev. Lee Waller will officiate and burial will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Born September 26, 1933, in Pelham, Georgia, she was the daughter of the late Jessie Roy and Laura Aldridge Godwin. She was the owner and manager of Hagan Personal Care Home. Mrs. Hagan was a member of United Daughters of the Confederacy, Daughters of the American Revolution and John B. Gordon Genealogical Society. Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Sandy and Don Cox of De Ridder, Louisiana; a granddaughter, Misty Hunter and her husband Keith of Thomasville; and three great-grandchildren, Gage Mercer, Deonna Mercer and Jenah Mercer. Also surviving are a sister, Vivian Stanaland and her husband John of Thomasville; two half-brothers, Franke Lee Pierce and Lavon Pierce both of Thomasville; and several nieces and nephews.
