Thelma V. Stephens, 89 of Boston, GA passed away peacefully in Thomasville, GA on August 18, 2019. Thelma was born September 19, 1929 in Boston, GA to parents Charlie Virgil Lucas and Nellie Mae Gainous Lucas, both of whom preceded in her death. She was the last remaining sibling of her three brothers and two sisters.

Before her retirement, Thelma was a seamstress for Warner's Slimwear. During her retirement she enjoyed the outdoors through many camping trips and was an avid fisher and gardener. Dancing and trips to Biloxi were among some of the ways she enjoyed spending her time. Thelma's favorite hobby was bargain hunting. This meant early morning searches for yard sales and making stops to any thrift store in sight. She was a strong-willed, kind soul who cherished time spent with her family and friends.

She is survived by one daughter, Agnes Virginia Hood, four grandchildren, Rebel Keene, Buffy Keene, Christopher Stegemann, and Ashley (Ben) Williams, four great-grandchildren, Dylan Lasseter, Joleigh Williams, Zoey Williams and Abbey Williams and one great-great-grandchild, Brody Lasseter. She also leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews and life-long friend, Gloria Gibbs. Thelma was preceded in her death by her husband, Hubert H. Stephens and daughter, Lynda Keene.

Services will be provided at Whiddon-Shiver Funeral Home on Wednesday August 21, 2019. Visitation will be from 10:00 AM - 11:00 AM with a private graveside committal to follow.
