Mr. David was born on October 11, 1945, in Ocala, FL, to the late Bennie Fritz David and Lois Mountain David. He served his country in the United States Navy and received an honorable discharge at the rank of Lieutenant in 1971. He received his MBA from Valdosta State University. He was comptroller at the W. B. Roddenbery Company and chief financial officer at Ira Higdon Grocery Company. On October 31, 1987, he married Kay Williams David, who survives. T.D. has held office and directorship in the Cairo Kiwanis Club and served with the Archway Partnership with the University of Georgia. He served on the 911 Committee for Grady/Decatur Counties, Finance Committee for the Cairo First United Methodist Church, participated as a reader for the Grady County Schools Quiz Bowl, judged for several 4-H Club projects, and emceed several Junior Miss Pageants. T.D. was a faithful member of the Kiwanis and the United Methodist Men. He was a member of the Cairo First United Methodist Church. These are just a few of the organizations that TD was passionate about serving in the community. He enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren and delighted in all of their activities.
His most important community service over the last eight years was serving as a Grady County Commissioner where he served as chairman several times. His love for Grady County ran deep, and he was proud to serve his community in this capacity.
Survivors include: his wife, Kay Williams David of Cairo, GA; children, Tad David (Jill) of Tallahassee, FL, Parrish C. David (Kim) of Sandersville, GA, Drew David (Ashley) of Dacula GA, Katie Rozier (Rusty) of Jeffersonville, GA, John Minter (April) of Smyrna, GA; and grandchildren, Daniel David of Dacula, GA, Ramsey David of Dacula, GA, John Miller David of Tallahassee, FL, Fenner David of Tallahassee, FL, Sarah Helen Rozier of Jefferson, GA, Rand Rozier of Jeffersonville, GA, Will Rozier of Jeffersonville, GA, Ellie Minter of Smyrna, GA, Charlotte Minter of Smyrna, GA.
He was preceded in death by: his parents; his granddaughter, Abigail Rentz David; and a sister, Judy David Carter.

The family will receive friends at Clark Funeral Home on Sunday, February 10, 2019, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.
