Services for Sarah Ruth Thompson are at 11 a.m., Friday, Oct. 27, 2017, at Mt. Nebo Missionary Baptist Church, 232 Mt. Nebo Lane, Cairo, Georgia. The Rev. Kenneth Fleming, pastor/officiating. Mrs. Thompson died Friday, Oct. 20, 2017 at Bainbridge Health Care in Bainbridge,?Georgia. She was born Sept. 5, 1943, in Thomasville, Georgia, to the late Oliver and Emma?Hayes. She attended Douglass High School in Thomasville, Georgia. Survivors include her husband, Joseph Thompson Sr. of Cairo; sons, Joseph (Christine) Thompson Jr. of Cairo, Christopher (LaFaye) Thompson of Cairo, Anthony (Pamela) Thompson of Union City,?Georgia; daughters, Carolyn Thompson of Cairo, Loretta Thompson of Locust Grove; brother, Oliver (Frances) Hayes Jr. of Thomasville; sisters, Eris Clark of Thomasville, Beverly Williams of Thomasville; brother-in-law, Bobby (Mickey) Thompson of Fort Lauderdale, Florida, Angie Ruth Daniels of Miami, Florida and sisters-in-law, Sally (James)?Bush of Daytona Beach, Florida, Mary (Luther) Gimblet of Fort Lauderdale, Florida, Joyce O'Neal of Thomasville, Edna (Everett) Wilson of Thomasville, Anna Bell Hayes of Thomasville, Fannie Mae Hayes of Thomasville, Patsy (Rufus) Morgan of Cairo; 12 grandkids; 12 great-grandkids; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
