Funeral services for the Rev. Vanessa Fann will be at 1 p.m., Saturday, May 27, 2017 at Willowhead M.B. Church. The Rev. William Brinson, pastor and Rev Ananias Hopkins, eulogist. The Rev. Vanessa Elain Fann was born on April 19, 1956 to the late Daniel Fann and Essie Mae Jackson-Fann in Thomasville, Georgia being the oldest of the siblings, she was known as mature or grown-up. At the age of 6, she was introduced to the Holy Spirit. She then started her talent playing the piano with the help of Ms. Golden. She continued her lifelong journey in the church until her health failed. Vanessa attended Douglass High. She was later able to graduate early with the class of 1973. She further her education at Thomas Tech, where she received several degrees including Computer Technology. She later attended Darton College in Albany and obtained a degree in Paralegal, Criminal Justice and several other degrees. Vanessa retired from Thomas County Sheriffs Department with 33 years of work experience. About 25 years ago, Vanessa became an ordained minister. Van loved the Lord, God, and Jesus all her life. She was considered one of God Sent Fearful Women. She leaves to cherish her memories, her loving sisters, Zan L. Fann of Thomasville, Georgia and Maggie Raymond of Hollywood, Florida; brothers, Danny G. Fann of Thomasville, Georgia and Ronald L. Fann of Jacksonville, Florida; uncle and auntie, Rev. Ellis and Bessie Fann of Thomasville, Georgia; loving nieces, Tameka, Ronnie, Ronesha, Evade Rea, Neilco and Shaun; loving nephews, Juan, Ronaldo, Proge, Ronald Jr. and Pershaun Sr.; great-nephew, Drashawn, great-great nephew, Drashawn Jr. DJ; aunts, Willie Ream McWhite of Albany, Georgia, and Emma Green of Riverview, Florida; loving cousins, Gwen, Freddie, Janice, Clara, John and Linda. Also, Annie Mae Thomas, Nephew, Jackie Sloan, and all of the St. James family. She was preceded in death by her parents, Daniel and Essie Mae Jackson-Fann; and her daughter, Tomika Laquan Fann.
