Services for Otis Gatlin Jr., 68, of Thomasville are at 3 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 18, 2017, at New Bethel Missionary Baptist Church. The Rev. Charles Moore, pastor and officiating, with interment in Peaceful Rest Cemetery. Pallbearers are Terry Hayes, Kenneth Thurman, Daniel Jackson, Justin Watts, Xavier Burkes Sr., Mark Turner and Norris Slater. Mr. Gatlin died Nov. 12 at Archbold Hospital.Born July 30, 1949, in Thomasville, he was the son of the late Otis Gatlin Sr. and Carrie Thurman Gatlin. He attended Douglass High School. Survivors include son and wife, Ferlin (Nicole)?Gatlin of Thomasville; son, the Rev. A. Charles Moore of Thomasville; son and wife, Dewayne (Tameka) Daphney of Cairo; devoted friend, Dorothy Revels of Thomasville; brother and wife, Alfred (Judy)?Gatlin of Thomasville; sisters and husbands, Madeline (Robert)?Watts of Jonesboro, Phyllis (Elijah) Hill of Covington, Carastine (David) Addison of Cairo; sisters, Anita Gatlin of Snellville, Marie Spencer of Jacksonville, Florida; 11 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; aunt and uncle, Deloris (J.D.) Minnifield of Thomasville; uncles, Parrish?Thurman of Thomasville, Jimmie Thurman of Thomasville, Charles Thurman of Gainesville, Florida; 24 nieces and nephews and numerous great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins and friends. Special thanks to the nurses and staff of Archbold Primary Care, Singletary Oncology Center and Archbold Memorial Hospital. The viewing is from 2 until 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home and from 2 p.m. until the funeral hour Saturday at the church with no viewing after the eulogy.
