Services for Margaret Presley Turner, 85, of Pavo, are at 2 p.m., Saturday, April 1, 2017, at Tabernacle Church of God in Unity. Bishop Thomas S. Lee Jr., of EBON Temple Church in Orlando, Florida, will officiate and interment follows at North End Cemetery in Quitman, Georgia. Honorary pallbearers are Courtney Turner and Ernest Whitfield Jr. Mrs. Turner died March 24 at Archbold Hospital in Thomasville. Born Nov. 29, 1931, in Pavo, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Millie Presley of Pavo. On Nov. 11, 1950, in Brooks County, she married Wallace Turner Sr. who preceded her in death on Dec. 12, 1987. She was a homemaker and a member of Trueborn Church of Christ in Pavo and the mother of Bible Church of God in Dixie, Georgia. Survivors include sons, Wallace Turner Jr. (Margie) of Quitman, Herman Turner (Sylvia) of Quitman, Winston Turner (Gwen) of Quitman; daughters, Katherine Turner (Otis) of Miami, Florida, Carolyn Whitfield of Pavo, Betty Thornton (Ollie) of Pavo, Helen Turner of Pavo, Maria Griffin (John) of Edison, New Jersey; son, Eric Davis of Quitman; special cousins, Lizzie Ryles and Jeanette Brown; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Wallace Turner Sr. and a son, Nathan Turner. The viewing is from noon to 8 p.m., Friday at the funeral home and from 11 a.m., until the funeral service Saturday at the church in Quitman.
