Funeral service for Macella Fletcher will be Wednesday, September 27, 2017 at 2 p.m. at First M.B. Church. Pastor Jeremy Rich will be doing words of comfort. Public viewing will be Tuesday, September 26, 2017 from 3 until 7 p.m. Ms. Marcella Fletcher was born on August 2, 1951, in Thomas County, Georgia to the late James Herbert Fletcher Sr. and Dora Newkirk Fletcher. She departed this life on Thursday, September 21, 2017 at Pelham Parkway Nursing Home. Marcella truly worshipped the spirit of the Lord and she found peace with the Him before she departed this life. She graduated from Douglass High School in 1969 and furthered her education at Thomas Technical School. She accepted Christ at New Jerusalem Baptist Church at an early age, and as an adult she became a member of First M.B. Church in Thomasville, Georgia. She enjoyed participating in various ministries such as the Pink Ladies, Guiding Light Club and Beulah Bush Usher Board No. 3. Marcella worked at Sunnyland Foods as a computer programmer for over 20 years, Mu-Dear Child Care Center and Preparatory Preschool Inc. as 2nd Shift Supervisor and Child Care Giver, and later in life worked for Dr. Gerald and Vivian Kadis until her health failed. She was preceded in death by her parents and one sibling, Thelma Fletcher. She leaves to cherish her loving and kind memory, brothers, James H. Fletcher, Jr. (Brenda), and Lee N. Fletcher of Thomasville, Georgia; nieces, Takiya Tillman and Sharika Fletcher, Jacksonville, Florida; great-nieces and nephews, Dekhariez Ivey, Zuri Tillman, Shamiya Sloan and Amarion Cime, of Jacksonville, Florida She is also survived by a host of other relatives and friends.
