Memorial Services for Luda Kathleen "Kathy" Worthington Dyess will be held Friday, Nov. 3, at 11:00 at FUMC. Rev. James Sapp & Rev. Charles Houston will officiate. Kathy died Oct. 20, 2017 at Willson Hospice in Albany, GA after a yearlong battle with polymyositis. Kathy was born to Ermon Lucile Pierce & Arthur Harrison Worthington, Jr. in Jacksonville, FL. July 7, 1945. She married Charles Howard Dyess, July 20, 1969 and made their home in Thomasville, GA. She is survived by husband Chuck and three sons; Brett Christopher (Meaghan Mohr), Jeff Harrison, and Scott Worthington (Isabella Carfi) and five wonderful grandchildren: Alexis, C J, Garrett, Mallori and Ethan. She graduated from VSU with a M. Ed. in early childhood and taught young gifted children. She was co-owner of Dyess-Tidwell Studio. She was instrumental in establishing the Back Pack Buddies Foundation where she served as CEO. She was an active member of the FUMC and a loyal member of the chancel choir. Her ashes will be maintained by the family.
On a personal note, let it be known that this was the best damn wife, mother, and grandmother ever. chd
