Linda Gertrude McCall Odom, 88, of Meigs, Georgia, died on Saturday, April 15, 2017 at her home. Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, April 19, 2017 at Cobb Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Dion Brown officiating. Interment will follow in Meigs Cemetery. Casketbearers will be Phil Brady, Durham Maxwell, Ed Autrey, Carl Simpson, Lynn McCraken and Leslie Moore. Born March 9, 1929 in Ashford, Alabama, she was the daughter of the late James Asberry McCall and Loyl Louvicie Meadows McCall. She was a homemaker and a member of New Bethel Church. Mrs. Odom loved to crochet. Her favorite item to crotchet was blankets for all the babies that was born. Her family remembers how she enjoyed making throws for the church members and for the church bus. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charlie Odom; step-sons, Earl Odom and Steve Odom; son-in-law, Jerry Montgomery; and sister, Nather Lena Brown. Survivors include her three children, Ronnie Odom of Thomasville, eorgia, Cecil Odom and Margie of Bainbridge, Georgia, Wylene Montgomery of Meigs, Georgia; five step-children, Shirley Bevins, Charlie Odom, Jr., Elizabeth Spence, Alice Barrett and Bertha Hurst; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchildren; six brothers and sisters, Doris Harrell of Donalsonville, Georgia, Elizabeth Payne and Johnny of Pontotoc, MS, Betty Webb of Douglasville, Georgia, James W. "Bud" McCall and Joyce of Jackson, Georgia, Margie Black and Ron of Marietta, Georgia, Brenda McCall of Jackson, Georgia; several nieces and nephews and other family members. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m., Tuesday at Cobb Funeral Chapel. Memorial contributions may be made to New Bethel Building Fund.
