Funeral services for Leroy D. Peeks Sr., 79, of Thomasville, are Saturday, October 21, 2017, at 3 p.m., at Providence Missionary Baptist Church. Rev. E.C. Virgil Sr., pastor and officiating. Interment will follow at Magnolia Cemetery. Active pallbearers are E.A. Jacobs and male choir. Honorary pallbearers are the Douglass High School Class of 1957 and Providence Missionary Baptist Church deacons. Mr. Peeks passed away on October 17, 2017 at his residence. Born on July 5, 1938 in Thomasville, he was the son of the late Emma Ruth Jones Peeks and Willie Franklin Peeks. He married Gloria Jean Williams, of Thomasville, on October 21, 2003, in Thomasville. Mr. Peeks served on the deacon board, male choir, and youth choir director. A graduate of Douglass High School Class of 1957, he retired from CSX Railroad Track as foreman for 24 years. He is survived by wife, Gloria J. Peeks of Thomasville; god mother, Gladys Frazier of Thomasville; son and wife, Leroy D. (Sue) Peeks Jr., of Ochlocknee; son and wife, Anthony T. Peeks (Christine) of Gainesville, Florida; son and wife, Donnell L. Washington (Shannon) of Jacksonville, Florida; daughter, Sandra L. Peeks of Thomasville; daughter and husband, Natalie L. Spencer (Farris) of Thomasville; daughter and husband, Kimberly K. Peeks-Simmons (Alphonso) of Tallahassee, Florida; daughter and husband, Carlisa L. Booker (Paul) of Pavo; daughter and husband, Pamela Davis (William) of Thomasville; daughter, LaRoyal D. Peeks of Thomasville; daughter and husband, Janice McBride (Hubert) of Thomasville; sister, Carolyn Sneed of Thomasville; two devoted lifelong friends, Richard Lewis and Eugene Frazier; and a host of grandchildrens, great grandchildren, a great great grand, nieces, nephews, cousins and family friends; two sisters-in-laws, Rose Peeks and Melissa Hawkins; three brothers-in-law, Jessie Williams, Vernon Williams, and Gregory Williams. Remains will lie in state at the church from 2 p.m. till the funeral hour. No viewing after eulogy. No repassed. Relatives and friends are asked to meet at 123 Bennett Street at 2 p.m. for the processional. Visitation at the funeral home, Friday, October 20, 2017 from 2 to 4:30 p.m. The wake from 6 to 7 p.m. at Providence Missionary Baptist Church, 1215 Magnolia Street.
