Lawrence Monroe "Pete" Hunter, 87, of Pavo, Georgia, died Wednesday, June 28, 2017 at his home. Graveside rites will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, July 1, 2017 at Antioch Cemetery in Thomas County with the Rev. Randy Jackson officiating. Born March 31, 1930 in Pavo, Georgia, he was the son of the late Warren Thomas Hunter and Lois Vonier Hunter. Mr. Hunter was a self-employed plumber and electrician. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Franklin Hunter; and sister Blanche Tinsley. Survivors include his wife of 65 years, Dorothy Sloan Hunter of Pavo, Georgia; daughter, Diane Green and Allen of McDonough, Georgia; son, Gary Hunter and Vickie of Ochlocknee, Georgia; two grandchildren, Erica Wallace and Julian of Oxford, Mississippi, Holly Hunter of Denton, Texas.; one great-grandson, Hunter Wallace; five sisters, Elsie Redfearn of Pavo, Georgia, Marceline Jones and P.R. of Donalsonville, Georgia, Faye Hiers and Jack of Moultrie, Georgia, Marie Sherrod, Margie Sumner both of Pavo, Georgia; brother, Bobby Hunter and Peggy of Pavo, Georgia. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m., Friday, June 30, 2017 at Cobb Funeral Chapel. Memorial contributions may be made to Colquitt Regional Hospice, P.O.
