Jerre Mac Edwards, of Nashville, Tennessee, died suddenly of cardiac arrest on August 12, 2017 at the age of 78. Jerre was born September 23, 1938 in Springfield, Tennessee to the late Dovie Lynne Murphy Inman and the late Ralph S. Edwards. He was also preceded in death by two brothers, F. Scott Edwards and David L. Inman.
Jerre unselfishly loved his family, was passionate about classical music and the arts, enjoyed traveling in the United States and around the world, and found great joy spending time with his friends. He retired after many loyal years of service at the Baptist Sunday School Board (now Lifeway Christian Resources). He attended West End United Methodist Church for 31 years, and was a member of the American Guild of Organists.
Jerre is survived by his two sisters, Judy E. Adcock (David) of Moultrie, Georgia, and Lanelle E. ?Lanway (Michael) of Bardstown, Kentucky, and two brothers, Ben S. Inman, III (Martha) of Tallahassee, Florida, and William M. Inman (Carla) of Thomasville, Georgia. He is also affectionately known as "Uncle Mac" to his nieces and nephews, namely: Michael S. Wilson, Beth W. Lockamy (Troy), Rebecca E. Wilson, Katherine L. Whitaker (Matt), David (Trey) Adcock III (Whitney), Whitney L. Weaver (Robbie), Stephen S. Adcock (Kristin), Robert M. Lanway, Meghan I. Saunders (Dan), Lawson Inman (Courtney), Julie I, Rasmussen (Josh), Benjamin Inman IV (Amanda), Stacey Inman, and William Inman, Jr. (Danielle), as well as 8 great-nieces and 13 great-nephews.
A Memorial service will be held on Sunday, August 20, 2017 at 3:00 pm CDT at West End United Methodist Church, Nashville, Tennessee. In lieu of flowers, Memorials may be made to the West End United Methodist Church Music Discretionary Fund, In Memory of Jerre Edwards, 2200 West End Avenue, Nashville, Tennessee, 37203.
