Graveside services for Jerome Virgil, 63, of Thomasville, are at 1 p.m., Saturday, June 10, 2017, at Peaceful Rest Cemetery unless it is raining. If so, the services will be held in Hatcher-Peoples Funeral Home Chapel. Pastor Jimmy Love of Kennedy Freewill Baptist Church will officiate. Pallbearers are family and friends. Mr. Virgil died June 6 at Archbold Hospital. Born Dec. 23, 1953, in Monticello, Florida, he was the son of the late Alozona and Marion Virgil. On May 2, 1973, in Thomasville, he married Betty Ross of Thomasville. He had lived in Thomasville for 50 years and employed by Cives Steel Company. He attended the Thomasville City School System and was a member of First Unity Missionary?Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, Betty Virgil of Thomasville; daughters, Shajuan Virgil of Atlanta, Tameka Fann of Thomasville; sisters, Teresa Williams of Deltona, Florida, Carolyn Kerbo Simmons of Thomasville, Tracey Kerbo Grant of Thomasville, Jackie Kerbo Lovett of Thomasville, Darlene Kerbo Brooker of Thomasville; brothers, Richard (Tony)?Virgil of Thomasville, Alonzo Virgil of Thomasville, Rickie Kerbo of Milledgeville; aunt, Evelyn O'Neal of Deltona, Florida; grandson, Drashaun Fann Sr.; great-grandson, Drashaun Fann Jr. of Thomasville; granddaughter, Ani Yah Spivey of Thomasville; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. The viewing is from noon until 8 p.m., Friday at the funeral home. The family will receive friends from 6 to 7:30 p.m., Friday also at the funeral home. There will no repass and no food.
