Funeral services for Hubert Robinson "H.R." Crosby, 93, of Pavo, Georgia, were held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, April 25, 2017 at Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church with the Rev. Thomas Parrish, the Rev. Frank Danner and the Rev. James Guthrie officiating. Interment, with military honors, followed in Wesley Chapel Cemetery. Casketbearers were Garrison Gay, Skyler Lee Crosby, Brandon Robinson Crosby, Stacey Ferguson, Brian Robinson and Jeffery Gay. Jon Ellis Varnadoe and Kensi Ferguson were honorary casketbearers. Mr. Crosby died Sunday, April 23, 2017 at his home. Born June 17, 1923 in Brooks County, Georgia, he was the son of the late Ellis Lee Crosby and Mary Mariah Crosby. Mr. Crosby was a United States World War II Army veteran, a farmer and a member of Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Bonnie Campbell. Survivors include his wife, Gladys Boyd Crosby of Pavo, Georgia.; five daughters, Sherdon Jackson and Stewart of Boston, Verlyn Hart and Randall of Pavo Georgia, Donna Lipsey and Johnny of Moultrie, Georgia, Reneé Varnadoe and Alan of Doerun, Georgia, and Andreé Gay of Pavo, Georgia; son, Tim Crosby and Marisa of Pavo, Georgia; three granddaughters, Nicole Jackson, Pamela Ferguson and Stacey, Ashley Hart; six grandsons, Brandon Robinson Crosby, Skyler Lee Crosby, Garrison Gay, Jake Varnadoe, Jon Ellis Varnadoe and Sam Varnadoe; one great-granddaughter, Kensi Ferguson.
