Memorial services for Hubert Lee Ansley, 86, of Thomasville will be held at 11:00 am, Saturday, January 27, 2018 at First Newark Baptist Church. Rev. Steve Brooks will officiate. Mr. Ansley passed away January 23 at Archbold Hospital. Born March 24, 1931 in Cairo, he was the son of the late Henry Lee Ansley and Carrie Mae Nix Ansley. He was married to Mildred Thursby Ansley for 68 years, who survives. Mr Ansley started his career as an agent with Liberty National Insurance Company in 1963. After his retirement in 1988, he then became active in local real estate. He won many distinctive awards for both real estate and life insurance and he was a past member and president of the Lions Club. He was an avid outdoorsman, a fine marksman and he enjoyed both hunting and fishing. He had a charismatic personality and had many friends and was loved by his family. Mr. Ansley was a devout Christian and was known for his meal time prayers. He is survived by his daughters, Teresa Brown and husband Bobby of Thomasville, Patsy Slater and husband Kenneth of Thomasville, Deborah Simpson and husband David of Ochlocknee; son, Bo Ansley and wife Summer of Fair Hope, Alabama; grandchildren, Packy & Stacy Dalton, Maria & Paul Filbert, Summer Brown, London Brown, Lance Slater, Leah & Aaron Stolarick, Will & Wendy Simpson, Jennifer Simpson, Bud & Eva Simpson, Candace Taylor and Russ Ansley; great-grandchildren, Brittany Burton, Katlyn Trujillo, Cole Dalton, Ansley Dalton, Hadley Dalton, Tanner Slater, Mason Slater, Elizabeth Stolarick, Sarah Stolarick, Kayne Alexander, Kash Hutchinson and Kalvin Hutchinson; sister, Maelene Shores; brothers, Hershel Ansley and Robert Ansley and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by daughter, Beverly Ansley Taylor. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to First Newark Baptist Church Memorial Fund, 225 Russell Rd, Thomasville, GA 31757.
