Services for Howard Neil Edwards, 67, of Thomasville, are at noon, Saturday, May 27, 2017, at First Unity Missionary Baptist Church. The Rev. Charlie Ross, pastor and officiating, with interment in Peaceful Rest?Cemetery. Pallbearers are friends of the family. Mr. Edwards died May 20 at Archbold Hospital. Born Sept. 25, 1949, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, he was the son of the late James Edwards and Ethel Farms Edwards. On June 30, 1984, in Thomasville, he married Alice Mae Harper. He served in the United States Army Corp from 1967 and was a Purple Heart recipient. He was a member of First Unity Missionary Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, Alice Mae Edwards of Thomasville; sons and wives, Howard (Angela) Edwards Jr. of Columbus, the Rev. Ronald (Kimi) Edwards of Columbus; sons, Timothy Edwards of Dublin, Terance Montgomery of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; stepsons, Alphonson Harper of Blackriver, New Jersey, Jason (Shannon) Harper of Thomasville; stepson and wife, Elder Cedric (Cornelius) Andrews of Gainesville, Florida; stepdaughter and husband, Torrie (Billy) Wilson of Houston, Texas; brother and wife, Ronald (Carol) Edwards of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; sister and husband, Roberta (Lorenza) White of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; sister, Deborah Holmes of Norristown, Pennsylvania; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nephews, nieces and other relatives and friends; and a very special friend, Dr.?Daryl Crenshaw of Thomasville. He was preceded in death by two brothers, James Edwards and Michael Edwards. The viewing is from 1 p.m. until 7 p.m., Friday at the funeral home and from 11 a.m. until the funeral hour on Saturday at the church with no viewing after the eulogy. The family will receive friends after the services at First Unity Missionary Baptist Church annex. Relatives and friends are asked to meet at 10:45 a.m., Saturday at 128 Blairstone Lane.
