Services for Horace Coleman, 76, of Macon, are at 11 a.m., July 29, 2017, at Mt. Moriah M.B. Church in Macon. The Rev. Dr. Stanley Kimble, pastor, the Rev. Mable Randall officiating with interment in Macon Memorial. Mr. Coleman died July 22 at Pine Pointe Hospice Navicent Health. Born July 15, 1941, in Thomasville, he was the son of the late John and Addie Coleman. On Sept. 7, 1963, in Brooklyn, New York, he married Mary Janet Stroman of Brooklyn. He lived for 35 years in New York and 25 years in Macon. He was captain of security at Rikers Island in New York. He was a 1960 graduate of Douglass High School and served as a deacon at Mt. Moriah M.B. Church in Macon. Survivors include his wife, Mary Janet Coleman of Macon; daughters, Lisa Coleman (Kareem) of Brooklyn, New York, Michelle (Michael) Aris of Corona, New York; grandson, B. Michael Coleman of Macon; sister, Carrie Coleman Henry of Thomasville; brothers, Job (Willie)?Coleman of Thomasville, Rufus (Gina)?Coleman of Indianapolis, Indiana; sister, Ida (Earl)?Morgan of Andrews Air Force Base, Maryland; brother, Jacob Coleman of New York, New York; sisters-in-law, Belinda Stroman of New York, Patricia Coleman of Thomasville, Gwendolyn Coleman of Decatur; and a host of uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
