Harley E. Phillips Harley E. Phillips, Jr., 82, passed away at Legacy Village at Plantation Manor in Thomasville on November 28, 2018, after a short illness. He was born May 25, 1936, in Plymouth, Indiana, to the late Harley, Sr., and Florence Lelah (Cripe) Phillips. At 19, he joined the United States Air Force, where he served four years with the 824th Bombardment Squadron. Following his military service, he worked as a tool and die maker in South Bend, IN, and he also owned his own gravel business. Upon his retirement, he moved to Ochlocknee, where he enjoyed restoring tractors and trucks, traveling, and spending time with his grandchildren. He is survived by his daughter, Rebecca S. Hancock of Pensacola, FL, and son and daughter-in-law, David L. and Kristine A. Phillips of Suwanee; three grandchildren: Virginia (Hancock) Moore, and her husband, Alexander, of Jacksonville, FL; Willett Davis Hancock, Jr., of Gainesville, FL; and Mary Katharine Phillips of Suwanee; and a sister, Barbara Graves of Mishawaka, Indiana. Allen & Allen Funeral Home in Thomasville is handling cremation. A memorial service may be planned in the future in Indiana.
