Faye Frances Williams, 81 of Thomasville, Georgia passed away peacefully at her home on Saturday, November 4, 2017. She was born in Essex county, New Jersey on July 10, 1936. She was the daughter of the late Tommy and Louvenia Harris and the late Jessie and Alice Walden.
Faye graduated from Douglass High School in 1954 and furthered her education at Tennessee State University in Nashville, Tennessee where she graduated in Education. She devoted 36 years of being an educator to the students of thomas County Schools.
On December 16, 1957 Faye married Earl Williams, Jr. in Thomasville, Georgia and they remained married for 59 years. Faye was a member of the Second Presbyterian Church where she also enjoyed singing in the choir. She was very active in her community being affiliated with the Church Women United, the Thomas County Retired Teacher's Association, the Georgia Association of Educators and she was the 2015 South Ga. Missionary Queen. She also devoted several years of service to the Thomas County Migrant Program and the Summer Lunch Program. Faye was a dedicated and active member of the Lambda Xi Omega Chapter of the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. in Thomasville.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 11, 2017 at 11:00a.m. at Willowhead Missionary Baptist Church, 615 East Calhoun Street with burial in Peacefulrest cemetery N. Pinetree Blvd. Thomasville.
The officiating minister is the Rev. Henry Walden and the Eulogist Rev. Emory Hopkins. Active pallbearers will be members of the Thomasville Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc.
Faye will be greatly missed be her family and many friends. Those left to cherish her memories include her husband: Earl Williams, Jr. of Thomasville, Ga.; sons and daughters in law: Earl Williams (DeShay) of Arllington, Va.; Thomas Williams (Glenda) of Marietta, Ga.; Jeffrey Williams (Venetta) of Anniston, Al.; daughter and son in law Jennifer Williams Ivey (Horace) of Tifton, Ga. and daughter Angela Williams of Thomasville.; Grandchildren: Justin Williams, Christopher Glenn, Hope Williams, Sydney Faye Williams, Summer Williams, Trevian Williams, Trenton Williams, Joel Williams and Kaziah Williams; Great grandchild Jacob Williams; Nieces: Pamela Cloud, Adreanna Hill, Amber Cloud and nephew Melvin Williams. Brother-in-law: Clarence Williams of Thomasville, other dear relatives and friends. Two life-long loving friends: Juanita Jackson and Barbara Stanford.
Public viewing will be held Friday from 1-5pm and the family will receive friends from 6-8 pm at the Second Presbyterian Church 1306 Fletcher St. Thomasville, Ga. The body will lie in state at Willowhead M.B. Church from 9:30am until funeral hour with no viewing after the eulogy.
