Memorial services for Erica Mae Atkinson, 19, of Cairo, are at 3 p.m., Monday, May 15, 2017, at Family Worship Center, Cairo. Pastor Johnny Moore will officiate. Miss Atkinson passed away at Archbold Memorial Hospital in Thomasville on Thursday, May 11, 2017. Erica was born on June 14, 1997, in Thomasville to Terry Atkinson and Sandra Capuchino Atkinson, both of whom survive. She graduated from Cairo High School and currently attended Bainbridge State College. She also worked at Dallas Wayne Company. She was a member of Family Worship Center in Cairo. Erica added joy to everyone's life she was around. She loved everyone and everyone loved her. Survivors include her parents, Terry and Sandra Atkinson of Cairo; brothers, Mark Prance (Lauren), of Havana, Florida, Matthew Prance (Kandice), of Thomasville, Jacob Atkinson, of Leesburg, Isaac Atkinson, of Cairo; sisters, Janie Owens (Jason), of Thomasville, Krystal Clark (Christopher), of Thomasville, Rachel Philmon (Brandon), of Thomasville; grandfather, Virgil Chappell, of Richlands, North Carolina; stepgrandmother, Harriett Atkinson, of Kingsland; nieces and nephews, Kathryn Owens, Colin Owens, Alyssa Clark, Olivia Clark, Ryan Smith, Brett Smith, Joy Philmon, Noah Philmon, Elijah Philmon, Aden Prance; aunts, Jessica Besancenez, of Savannah, Catherine Gildar, of Atlanta; and uncles, Felix Atkinson Jr., of Thomasville, Danny Foster of Richlands, North Carolina. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Hilda Chappell, Felix and Pauline Atkinson. Memorials may be made in Erica's memory to Family Worship Center, P. O. Box 402, Cairo, Georgia 39828.
