Eleanor Turrentine

July 06, 1930 - October 02, 2018

Eleanor Inman Turrentine passed away on Tuesday, October 2nd. She was better known to family and friends as "Onie". Born July 6, 1930 to the late Benjamin Stinson and Pearl McDonald Inman, she grew up in Thomasville, Georgia. Onie graduated from Thomasville High School and met the love of her life there. She went on to attend Agnes Scott and Wesleyan Colleges and married her high school sweetheart, Reece Goff Turrentine. As a Methodist minister's wife, she served and helped to nurture many communities, large and small in Georgia, from Hahira, to Cuthbert, Fort Valley, Macon, Columbus and Atlanta. Onie spent her life in love with God, her husband and her children. Those who were loved by her knew it without a doubt. She taught love by example, and generously gave her quick smile, her undivided attention and a ready ear whenever needed. She is survived by her children Michael and Linda Turrentine, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She will come to rest beside her husband, Reece in Thomasville. Fischer Funeral Care, Atlanta.
