Edna Earle's Story
Funeral services for Edna Earle Bass Bailey, of Coolidge, will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, February 19, 2018 in the chapel of Whiddon-Shiver Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Harmony Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery. Rev. J.P. Miller and Rev. Gerri Simpson will officiate. Active Pallbearers will be Sherman Maine, Andre Yancy, Jamie Powers and Bryan Pitts. Born November 16, 1949 in Quitman, GA Mrs. Bailey was a daughter of the late Al Jack Bass and Idumea Walker Bass. On July 11, 1969 she married her husband Jesse James Bailey in Donalsonville, GA and he preceded her in death on November 23, 2005. She retired after 26 years working with the Thomas County Board of Education as a substitute teacher and bus driver. Mrs. Bailey is survived by a daughter, Diann Cannon of Coolidge, step-daughter, Cathy Slater of Coolidge, step-son, Jeffrey Bailey of Cairo; grandchildren, Corey Outzs (Lisa), Cliff Outzs (Macy), Hanna Cannon, Kaydance Bailey, Michael Bailey, Jamie English, Christina English and Dewayne Slater; a sister, Barbara Franz of Thomasville and brother, William Bass of Moultrie, great-grandchildren Jesse Outzs, Wesley Outzs, Kristina Outzs, Belle Outzs, Katie English, Bobby Jane English; several nieces and nephews and friends and daughters in Christ, Julie Pitts and Linda Morris. Mrs Bailey was preceded in death by a son Joey Bailey and son-in-law Jack Cannon. The family will recieve friends Sunday, February 18 from 5 - 7 pm at Whiddon-Shiver Funeral Home.
