Funeral services for Deacon James Andrews will be Saturday, September 9, 2017 at 11 a.m. at St. James Primitive Baptist Church. The public viewing will be Friday, September 8, 2017 from 1 to 7 p.m. Deacon James Andrews was born June 15, 1942 to the late Willie Andrews and the Catherine McCoy in Jefferson County, Florida. He passed from this life on Monday, August 28, 2017 at Archbold Memorial Hospital. James grow up in the Miccosukee and Metcalf area. James worked in the pulpwood industry and at Millpond Plantation. James confessed Christ at an early and joined St. Paul Primitive Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Elder Richard McHew and later joined New Olive Grove Baptist Church under the leadership of Elder James Thomas. James met and married Addie Lee Leaks and to this union one child was born, Willie James Andrews. He left to cherish his memories, his son, Willie James (Charlotte) Andrews Jr. of Thomasville, Georgia; granddaughter, Laquoia Andrews; great-grandchildren, Jayden I. Andrews, Amari L Andrews; grandson, Willie J. Andrews Jr.; great-grandchildren, Serious L. Andrews; three brothers, Ronald (Annie) McCoy, William (Bertha) McCoy, and Eddie McCoy (Katie Lee) all of Thomasville, Georgia; four sisters, Willie Mae Graham, Lille Mae (Willie) Tillman, Bessie (Terry) Clark all of Thomasville, Georgia and Ethel (Bernard) Lundy of Stone Mountain, Georgia; sister-in-law, Emma McCoy of Thomasville, Georgia; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his sisters, Pearl Mitchell and Dorothy Stirrup, the late Josephine Andrews and Dorothy Cochran Andrews; and two brothers, George McCoy and Milton McCoy.
