Services for Clara Coston Scott, 92, of Thomasville, are at 2 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 9, 2017, at Providence Missionary Baptist Church, 1215 Magnolia St. The Rev. Dr. Emory Virgil, Providence Missionary Baptist Church, Thomasville will officiate and interment is in Sunset Memorial Gardens in Thomasville. Pallbearers are family members and deacons. Mrs. Scott died Aug. 31 at her residence. Born Jan. 26, 1925, in Thomas County, Georgia, she was the daughter of the late Tom and Annie Gatlin Coston. She was married in Thomas County to Herbert Scott Sr. who preceded her in death on Feb. 14, 2009. She attended the Thomas County School System and was a domestic engineer. She was a member of Providence Missionary Baptist Church where she was an usher for over 60 years, member of of American Legion Ellis Lodge, Socialites, Decketts and Alfresco Club. Survivors include a daughter, Glenda Scott of Thomasville; son and daughter-in-law, Herbert (Linda)?Scott of Gainesville, Florida; granddaughter and husband, Uericka (Lorenzo) Daniels of Thomasville; grandsons and wives, Eric (Monique)?Scott of Thomasville, Demi (Regina)?Scott of Tallahassee, Florida; brother-in-law, Shelly Scott of Thomasville; sisters-in-law, Beverly Coston of Tallahassee, Florida, Jackie Coston of St. Petersburg, Florida; the Langford family; several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by parents, Tom and Annie Coston; siblings, Johnnie Mae McQueen, Drucilla Hall, Beatrice Watkins, Tom Coston Jr., Willie Mae Rogers, Lizzie Coston, Janie Blair, Hattie Johnson, Reather Britten, Albert Coston, Abe Coston and The viewing is from noon to 8 p.m. at the funeral home Friday and from noon until the funeral hour at the church with no viewing after the eulogy.
