Betty Gowan Turner, wife of Aaron W. Turner, peacefully went to be with her Heavenly Father on March 6, 2018. Having been born in Spartanburg, South Carolina, she had been a resident of Fayetteville, Georgia, for the past eighteen years and a faithful member of Woolsey Baptist Church. Betty and Aaron were former residents of Thomasville, Aaron having been the Headmaster of Brookwood School of Thomasville from 1976 - 1982. Betty was the mother of the late Nena Turner Anderson, the daughter of the late Geneva and Claude Gowan, as well as the sister of the late Clifford and Mike Gowan.
Surviving are Betty's husband, Aaron; her son, James Aaron Turner, of Landrum, SC; her sister, Carolyn Crow; and a brother, Larry Gowan, of Spartanburg, SC. Also surviving are four grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM on March 10, 2018 at Woolsey Baptist Church, 115 Hampton Road, Fayetteville, GA 30215.
