Betty Joyce Brown


Funeral services for Betty Joyce Brown, 83, of Cairo, GA, are at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, August 7, 2019, at the First Baptist Church, Cairo, GA. Rev. Chris Allen and Pastor Johnny H. Moore will officiate. Services will conclude at the church. Private interment will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery, Cairo, GA. Mrs. Brown passed away at Archbold Memorial Hospital in Thomasville, GA, on Sunday, August 4, 2019.

Mrs. Brown was born on August 30, 1935, in Leslie, GA, to the late Artist Clayton Snider, Sr. and Vivian Gertrude Deese Snider. She was a teacher, landscape designer and installer. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Cairo.

Survivors include: her children, Callie Faulhaber (Bill) of Frisco, TX, Bubba Brogdon (Helen) of Cairo, GA, Holly Prescott of Putney, GA, Joy Tinney (Bret) of Thomasville, GA; grandchildren, Kirby Parramore of Adel, GA, Clay Rutherford of Adel, GA, Kaci Prescott of Thomasville, GA, Lee Dyess (Monica) of Valdosta, GA, Crystal Nelson (Ricky) of Champagne, IL, Sarah Faulhaber of Memphis, TN, Will Tinney, Jake Tinney, John Bret Tinney, all of Thomasville, GA; great-grandchildren, Hope Parramore and Mary Morris; sister, Deanne Starratt (Terry) of Yulee, FL; and a host of nieces, nephews and extended family.

She was preceded in death by: her parents; husband, Marvin Brown; brother, Artist C. Snider, Jr.; and sisters, Helen Bryant, Estelle Snider.

Memorials may be made in Mrs. Brown's memory to: Cairo First Baptist Church WMU, P. O. Box 1538, Cairo, GA 39828.

The family will receive friends at Clark Funeral Home on Tuesday, August 6, 2019, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.
