Bettie's Story

Mrs. Bettie Louise Major Davis was born July 21, 1942 to the late Robert and Annie Bell Bishop Major. She departed her life October 30, 2017 at Select Specialty Hospital of Tallahassee, Florida. Mrs. Davis gave her life to Christ at an early age. She was a member of Trinity Missionary Baptist Church, Boston, Georgia where she served diligently until she departed her life. She faithfully served on the usher board No. 1, taught Sunday school class No. 4, assisted with class 1 and was a member of the Senior Mission. She worked the majority of her life as a seamstress in Bradenton, Florida and South Georgia. She attended elementary school in Boston and Magnolia High School. One son, Barney Major and four stepchildren preceded her in death. She leaves to mourn; four children, Marcus Major (Sheronda), Jacksonville, NC, James Barnes (Debra), Boston, GA, Arnetha Wyche (C.J.), Thomasville, GA, Stephanie Barnes, Thomasville, GA; She was married to the late Willie James Davis. She also leaves a host of grandchildren, siblings, nieces, nephews, cousins, other family and friends. Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 11, 2017 at 11 a.m. at Trinity M.B. Church with Pastor Benny E. Calloway, eulogist. Burial will follow in the Boston Cemetery. Visitation will be held Friday at the Stevens-McGhee Chapel from 4 to 8 p.m. Visit www.stevensmcgheefuneralhome.com to extend condolences.
