Funeral services for Armeta Butler Sr. will be Sunday, March 11, 2018 at 2 p.m. at Rose City Church of Christ, Highway 19 Thomasville, Georgia. Public viewing will be Saturday, March 10, 2018 from 12 p.m. to 7 p.m. Armeta Butler Sr. was born in Pelham, GA on June 9, 1931, to the late Walter and Yetter Mae Butler. He attended the Mitchell County School System. He was a member of St. Lewis Missionary Baptist Church in Pelham, Georgia. He met and married Hattie Mae Butler and started a life in Ochlocknee, Georgia. To this union there were seven children. Armeta was a hardworking man, carrying two or more jobs at one time. He dedicated over 40 years of his life to Georgia Crate & Basket Co., Thomasville. Armeta departed life on March 6, 2018 at Thomasville Rose City Rehab. He was preceded in death by his wife, Hattie Mae Butler; son, Armeta Butler Jr.; two brothers, Frank and Robert Butler; and two sisters, Thelma
Washington and Mattie Smith. He leaves to cherish his memories sons, William Nixon of Jacksonville, Florida and Demetrius Crumbly of Charlotte, North Carolina; daughters, Olivia Myrick (the late Isiah Myrick); Hattie Mae Butler; Amelia (Randel) Brock; and Deloise Rauls, all of Ochlocknee, Georgia; brothers, Ulas Butler Sr. of St. Petersburg, Florida and Ernest Butler of Pelham, Georgia; sister: Willie Ruth George of Pelham, Georgia; sisters-in-law, Annie Jewel Porter of Buffalo, New York and Ernestine Butler of Pelham, Georgia. He had sixteen grandchildren, fifty-two great grandchildren, twelve great-great grandchildren along with a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, friends, and special friends, Jimmy and Martha Long of Ochlocknee.
